Access to PSREF

1. What is PSREF?

Product Specifications Reference (PSREF) is a marketing deliverable revealing down to the part number level's configurations and technical specifications of Lenovo products, which includes Lenovo laptops, desktops, tablets, workstations, monitors, and smart office devices. PSREF is the primary tool used by customers to differentiate the configurations in models of current and withdrawn Lenovo products.

PSREF currently supports commercial and consumer products launching in EMEA, NA, AP and LA.

2. How to access to PSREF?

  • Go to the PSREF site at https://psref.lenovo.com/ on Windows PC clients. Using the common browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge (Chromium based), or Mozilla Firefox is recommended.
  • Using PSREF App for iOS or Android. Search "PSREF" in App store or Google Play then download and install.

How to Use PSREF

1. How to find my product name and part number / machine type number (MTM)?

Follow the instructions in How to find serial numbers, you can find product name, serial numbers and part number / MTM.

2. Why can't I find the product or model (MTM, PN) on the PSREF website?

  • Product / region limitation
  • At present, PSREF covers most Lenovo PC products including laptops, desktops, all-in-ones, workstations, tablets, smart collaboration, edge devices and monitors launching in worldwide. We doesn’t support Lenovo data center products and NEC brand products. For Lenovo data center products and solutions, please visit https://lenovopress.com

  • Models limitation
  • Standard models (end with country code, e.g. 20U50000UK): Basically, PSREF covers standard models for most countries / regions, but some web models such as Think brand web models for north America are not included in PSREF.

    Special bid models (end with 00, e.g. 20W0S08R00): In principle, we don’t cover special bid models only except for some special cases for Brazil and AP.

    CTO models (end with WW, e.g. 20XWCTO1WW): PSREF doesn’t cover any CTO (Configuration to Order) models, these models’ configurations are customized when users place the order on Lenovo.com.

  • Withdrawn products
  • The products which are EOL (end of life) will be removed into "Withdrawn Products" section, and can only be found there.

  • Available date
  • Generally, PSREF releases products or models by its announcement date, and Lenovo might make the press release of the product earlier.

3. How to access to a withdrawn product?

Please visit Withdrawn Products section for withdrawn products / models information.

4. How to stick to use the latest version of PSREF?

We strongly recommend you to use online PSREF because it always keeps up-to-date, including model configurations and platform specifications under each product page. The combined PSREF books are only updated every 3-week.

5. What is the difference between exporting in PDF and Excel files?

On the product page, it's allowed to export the model’s configurations in two file formats, Excel or PDF. Exporting in excel has no model limitation, you can export all models or your filtered models in one excel file, but it only contains configurations, no product specifications, whereas exporting in PDF will contain additional product specifications and service information besides the configurations, and PDF are allowed to export up to 10 any filtered models in single download.

6. How to access PSREF documents when I am offline, or I want to share them quickly?

  • For product specifications, download the PDF file under each product.
  • For product models, export model configurations by using Export to PDF or Export to Excel function.

7. There is no responding when I export model configurations in PDF files.

Exporting model configurations to PDF files consumes a little while. You might also need to check if the browser blocks the exporting window. If so, allow the pop-up window.

8. There are hundreds or even thousands of models of a product, how to filter out the models with the configurations I look for quickly?

On the product page, click on the column titles of the configuration table to enable filtering or sorting.

PSREF supports multiple filters to help find results.

9. How to compare models?

  • Add models to comparison cart and make a comparison

    Enter the product page you want to compare. Select models by clicking , then click , you will be navigated to comparison result page. Up to 4 models can be added to comparison cart. In comparison result page, differences between models will be highlight.

  • Remove models in comparison result page

    Remove model from comparison result by clicking the next to the model number.

  • Add models in comparison result page

    Add model to comparison by clicking the . In pop-up menu, input the model number directly or select models from pull-down menu.

10. How to find the products and models quickly?

Use Advanced search tools on the top middle of PSREF home page:

The following search methods are supported:

Product name, e.g. T14s

MT Number, e.g. 20S0

Model Number, e.g. 20S00004AD

PSREF will automatically matches the search.

11. How to sign up to receive PSREF newsletter?

Sign-up PSREF newsletter will keep you notified the newest updates on PSREFR website. To subscribe the PSREF newsletter, please click on the top of PSREF home page, fill out the registration form, and then you will receive a notification email after each PSREF new version releases.
